site history, a bit about me

ymvdesigns was officialy launched in late September 2002. It started on Angelfire as part of my homepage (Rising Eternity) which was also on Angelfire back then. It was a simple site, with an image map based on one of my drawings for navigation and featured even simpler table and border based layouts with rather crude graphics. In the course of a year, ymvdesigns moved from Angelfire to Web1000.com, featured better designs and more eye-pleasing navigation and layout, though still simple. In November 2003 I moved the site to its own domain (ymvdesigns.com) hosted by Dreamhost. On May 16th, 2004 ymvdesigns got a new layout and better organization, since the first layout didn't work well on IE using Macs. Finally, on June 28th the site received another new layout because the previous one was taking too long to load, and had other problems.

The entire site is coded by hand, using Taco HTML Edit for Macs. It's built with div layering and tables to keep things organzized. It's all regular HTML and CSS. I use no special programs or WYSIWYG Editors, except for Adope Photoshop CS and that is to edit the graphics used in the layouts and Image Ready CS to create Image Maps on some of the layouts. It's made to look good in 800x600 and higher browers, even though my own resolution is higher, I realize many people still have the lower res sizes. It should look good in all the mayor browsers, personally I have tested it in Safari which is my browser of choice and IE.

My name is Yelitza M. Velez, I am 20 years old, a university junior (3rd year) studying to obtain a Bachellor's Degree in Fine Arts: Graphic Arts and Design.
